Growing concerns about the testing procedures and review ...

?The need to test faster and stronger and procedures can not be underestimated,? the letter states.?One problem I have is that they examine some of the science and do not know how to interpret, because it is done using the traditional paradigm of toxicology tests? to have said. ?We need geneticists, biologists, we need development and reproduction, and we need people on board to help clinicians interpret and evaluate a few really ?science?.

Patricia Hunt, a professor at Washington State University School of Molecular Biosciences and corresponding author of the letter, said the FDA and the EPA need to look beyond the toxicology of substances to other chemicals means that we can effect.

Hunt said that the letter was mainly driven by growing concerns about chemicals like the plasticizer bisphenol A, or BPA, subject of over 300 studies that found adverse health effects in animals. Because these chemicals like hormones in our body, are like strangers getting behind the wheels of our cars, Hunt said.

Another problem, he says, is that even when women seek treatment for their health problems can be recognized as being related to drug use. The first symptoms of bacterial infection drugs often include abdominal cramps, nausea and vomiting. These symptoms are common among women taking abortion drugs.

Testimony Hunt, last year helped make Washington the fifth state to ban BPA in food containers and cups for children.

He wrote in a letter in the journal Science, eight companies in the fields of genetics, reproductive medicine, endocrinology, developmental biology and others note that about 12,000 new chemicals are registered with the American Chemical Society daily. Few are in the environment, but federal regulators over, the Food and Drug Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency, often lack information about the hazards of chemicals produced in large quantities.

Scientific societies representing 40,000 researchers and clinicians wonder that federal authorities press on a wide range of expertise in risk assessment of chemicals to which Americans are increasingly exposed.
