I met a guy who majored in International Business and I asked him if that worked well for him. He pretty much said no. (he really didn?t say anything, he just looked at me.) Before talking to this guy, I was pretty sure I was going to pursue an International Business major, but now I?m wondering if its worth it or not. After all, I don?t want to go to college, get into debt and don?t even use the major I have PLEASE HELP!!!!
If you think about it, international business will always be needed and is currently a rapidly growing field with the immense growth of the chinese economy.
In my opinion, to do well in this field, and most any other field of business, you?re gonna have to be extremely competitive and cut-throat. International companies/businesses aren?t going to play nice. You will undergoe tremendous amounts of stress in your climb to the top, so do analyze your personality and ethics before you commit yourself to that field. And if you go ahead with it, make sure you decide where you will draw the line in terms of business ethics and never cross it, no matter the amazing benefits offered.
This is one of those high risk high reward jobs. And yes you will have to become fluent in a second language, and to do so at your age you will probably need to spend at least a year abroad in said country.
